The Brief
We designed and built a live fleet-tracking dashboard that gives dispatchers one view of vehicles, routes and delivery exceptions across more than 40 depots.
The Challenge
Addressing the core problems and constraints of the project.
Dispatchers relied on five disconnected tools and spreadsheets, so late deliveries were often discovered by customers before the operations team noticed.
The Solution
Crafting a
unique approach.
We unified telematics, order and driver data into a single real-time interface with exception-first alerts, map-based triage and role-specific views for dispatch, depot managers and finance.
Discovery
We spent two weeks shadowing dispatchers across three depots and mapped every tool they opened during a shift. Most of the day went to reconciling information rather than making decisions.
What we built
A real-time operations view on Next.js with a streaming data layer. Exceptions rise to the top, the map is used for triage rather than decoration, and each role sees only what it needs to act.
Outcomes
- Late deliveries fell by almost a third within the first quarter.
- New dispatchers were productive after one day of training instead of two weeks.
- Finance now reconciles delivery exceptions from the same screen as operations.
